Registration is now open for the University of Tartu’s three-minute thesis competition for doctoral researchers, which will take place on 21 October at the University of Tartu Library. The deadline for registration is 12 October.

This year the Paulson lectures will be held by Oliver Freiberger. He is a highly regarded scholar of religion who is widely known for his work on early Buddhism, asceticism, comparative method in the study of religion and other related topics.

The journal De Ethica has published a Call for Papers for a 2027 special issue, “Crisis & Recovery: Ethics in Interdisciplinary Dialogue”, guest edited by Thomas-Andreas Põder and Johann-Christian Põder.

The Estonian Research Council (ETAG) invites students to participate in the 2026 National Contest for University Students. The last day for submissions is 15 September. This year, the total prize fund exceeds €200,000.

From 20 to 23 August 2026, the University of Tartu hosted the 62nd Annual Conference of Societas Ethica, the European Society for Research in Ethics, under the title “Crisis & Recovery – Ethics in Interdisciplinary Dialogue”.

This autumn, doctoral researchers of the University of Tartu will again have the opportunity to participate in the three-minute thesis competition. The competition will be held on 21 October in the conference hall of the University of Tartu Library.

The call for applications for the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Postdoctoral Fellowships is open until 9 September 2026. In April and May, the Estonian Research Council (ETAG) will host info sessions to help prospective applicants prepare their applications.

Registration is now open for the international conference “Crisis & Recovery – Ethics in Interdisciplinary Dialogue”, taking place at the University of Tartu from 20 to 23 August 2026. The event also marks the 62nd annual conference of Societas Ethica – The European Society for Research in Ethics.

Speaker application is open until April 1 for TEDxUniversity of Tartu.
