Starting from January 1st the German Department of Tartu University runs its own doctoral school (Vladimir-Admoni-doctoral school) in cooperation with the Institute of German Philology at Georg-August-University of Göttingen supported by the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service).

Within the doctoral school up to six PhD-students get a scholarship for up to three years and have a second supervisor from Göttingen University (German Philology). The school is open for PhD-students who dedicate their research to German Literature, Language or Culture (not restricted in the narrower sense to students who write their Phd-thesis in the German department; beyond them PhD-students from Comparative and Estonian Literature, Estonian and General Linguistics, History, Theology, Philosophy, Folklore Studies etc. are welcome to apply).
