Summer University - Love and Sex in Digital World: Philosophy, Ethics and Theology

Registration for the summer university course Love and Sex in Digital World: Philosophy, Ethics and Theology has started

The course will take place on-site in Tartu, 1 - 7 August 2022. Course leader is Anastasiia Babash, Junior Research Fellow in the School of Theology and Religious Studies. 

Digital technologies have tremendously transformed all spheres of our life, including romantic and sexual relationships. This course is an attempt to analyse all those changes from philosophical, ethical, and theological perspectives.

The course covers topics and matters such as:

  • ethics of dating apps and online infidelity;
  • cybersex and future relationships with robots;
  • fresh look at existing discussions about love and sex in philosophy, ethics, and theology by adding recent technological influences to them;
  • how contemporary humanities could contribute to the development of technologies to make them more ethical?

Study group is primarily MA students, but advanced BA and interested PhD students are welcome.
