In the summer, two large book donations were made to the University of Tartu Library, adding to its existing collection of books on the classical and early modern periods.
Paulson Lectures in the Study of Religion lectures were held by Catharina Raudvere on November.
On 11 November at 16:15 Indrek Pekko will defend his doctoral thesis "Estonian Evangelical Lutheran Church in 1991–2015 – Changes, Identity and Theological Orientation" for obtaining the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (in Theology).
The competition’s best short lectures focused on innovation in medicine, ancient dental calculus, the theological currents among the Estonian clergy, and six-dimensional imaging.
In connection with the visit, there will be a lecture and film screening.
The competition will be held on Wednesday, 2 October at 10:00 in the Conference Hall of the University of Tartu Library.
On 4 November at 16:15 Rain Soosaar will defend his doctoral thesis "The Process of Secularization in Rural Communes of Estonia and Latvia (1920-40). Case Studies of Lutheran–Majority Parishes" for obtaining the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (in Religious Studies).
The registration for three-minute thesis competition ends on 19 September.
